State Championship Tournament Rules
Handicap is 90% of the difference between total bowler/bowlers average and maximum base score of classification
Should any bowler merit a USBC award emblem, the application must be filled out and signed by the league official and sent to the local Association Manager or Processing Agency. Do NOT send to USBC directly.
- Entries are available to all certified Indiana USBCYA League Members. No Bumper or Carpet Bowlers.
- All bowlers will use their highest current certified league average – minimum 12 games on December 1, 2009. Bowlers who do not have at least 12 games
in one league on December 1, 2009, may use their highest certified league average – minimum 12 games – at the time of participation in the tournament provided the bowlers bring a certification of average signed by the league official. If the bowlers do not bring a certification signed by a league official, the bowler will bowl scratch. No tournament averages will be allowed such as TKO, IYSBT, etc.- Rule 319a will apply except (1) to averages of 12 or more games as of December 1, 2009 and (2) a current average at the time of bowling in the
tournament is 10 or more pins higher than the December 1, 2009 or prior summer league average based on 12 or more games, then the higher
average must be used. - Coaches must furnish copies of the most recent standing sheets of all certified leagues at the time of checking in at the tournament office or Rules 319 (b), (c), (d), & (e) will not apply.

- You may only only one time in any event. If bowling in Singles you must bowl in the doubles (consecutively). Singles will be bowled first.
- Bowlers from the host association may substitute for absent bowlers, but only their original entry will qualify for ALL EVENTS and SINGLES.
- When a substitute bowler starts bowling for an absent or tardy bowler, he/she will finish the event (Team 3 games)(Singles/Doubles 6 games). No
switching or changing of assigned times or original line-up will be permitted except in case of an emergency to be decided by the Tournament Director or
assigned representative. REPLACEMENT BOWLER WILL BE INSERTED FOR MISSING BOWLER. NO REARRANGING OF LINEUP.- A bowler who has started bowling in the team or doubles event that cannot complete the series because of an emergency, injury or illness will
receive a blind score of his/her average less 10 pins, plus handicap for all frames and games not completed. See rule 108a.

- ALL TEAMS WILL BE UNISEX AND CAN CONSIST OF BOYS, GIRLS, OR MIXED. DIVISIONS WILL BE STRICTLY BY AVERAGE OR COMBINED AVERAGES. TEAMS WILL CONSIST OF 5 BOWLERS; DOUBLES WILL CONSIST OF 2 BOWLERS. Trophies will be awarded at least 1 for each 10 entries in each division. All bowlers bowling in all 3 events will automatically be eligible for ALL EVENTS. SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED TO ALL EVENTS TOP BOY AND TOP GIRL IN EACH DIVISION – SCRATCH AND HANDICAP. BOWLERS CANNOT RECEIVE BOTH HANDICAP AND SCRATCH ALL EVENTS AWARDS; ALL AWARD FEES ARE RETURNED 100%.
- The Indiana State USBCYA Tournament will be a qualifying event for the USA Junior Gold National Bowling Championship. The high actual All Events boy and girl will receive a paid entry and expenses (travel, lodging and meals with receipts up to $1000) to the following year USA Junior Gold National Bowling Championships. Girls must have an average of 150+ and boys 175+ to become a Gold Member. You must be a Gold Member prior to the participation in the Indiana State USBCYA tournament to be eligible.
- The scholarship funds earned in the Indiana State USBCYA Tournament will be deposited in the SMART Scholarship Program at USBC. Each scholarship winner will receive a scholarship certificate and information on how to secure payment of the scholarship funds.
- After the official scorer has passed a score, it cannot be changed except where there is an obvious error in a scoring calculation. All corrections MUST BE MADE on the original score sheets. No absentee score will be permitted except as covered in rule 5b above.
- ALL BOWLERS MUST BE PRESENT 30 MINUTES BEFORE SCHEDULED BOWLING TIME. THE LEAGUE OFFICAL OR HIS/HER REPRESENTATIVE MUST CHECK IN ALL BOWLERS. CHANGES MUST BE MADE ONE (1) HOUR BEFORE THE SCHEDULED BOWLING TIME.
- FALSIFICATION ON THE ENTRY WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION OF BOWLER/BOWLERS.
- THE USE OF TOBACCO OR ALCOHAL IN ANY FORM IS PROHIBBITED.
- INDIANA STATE USBCYA DRESS CODE: Proper attire must be worn at all times. Shirts must be worn. No shirts with obscene advertising or liquor advertisement may be worn. No Halter-tops. No hats. No short shorts. Tournament Officials will decide questionable attire. No advertisement of tobacco, liquor, wine, beer and gambling industries on any equipment. All necessary underclothes must be worn.
- All rules not covered above will be covered in the USBC rulebook. The Tournament Director and/or the Tournament Committee will make all decisions which will be final, subject to review by the Indiana State Board and the USBC rules committee.
- TOURNAMENT APPLICATIONS NOT COMPLETED PROPERLY MAY BE RETURNED.
- TOURNAMENT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED WITHOUT CHECK OR MONEY ORDERS WILL BE RETURNED AS INCOMPLETE. ALL ENTRIES WILL BE PROCESSED BY DATE RECEIVED ORDER.
SPECIAL NOTICE: ANYONE DISPLAYING UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT (CURSING, DELIBERATE FOULING, OBSCENE OR DEROGATORY GESTURES, KICKING BALL RETURNS OR WALLS, ETC.) MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATIONS.
