July 21, 2008   Larry Ewart Update

Hi everyone,

I got home from the hospital about 20 minutes ago.  Larry's surgery lasted about 12 hours.

They did a double bypass, replaced the aorta valve with a mechanical one.  As they bring him off of the bypass machine and watch for any bleeding they found that his mitro valve was not working properly.

There was too much blood flowing the wrong way thru it.  So the surgeon had to go back in and put an extension on to it.  They then closed him up and keep him in the operating room for about an hour, because his blood was not clotting like it should.  Once it started clotting they took him up to his room.  Right now he has a balloon pump on his heart to make sure the right amount of pressure is going thru the heart.  They will probably take this pump out tomorrow or Wednesday.

I will let you know more as I find out more.

Thanks for everything.

June 16, 2008   THANK YOU

I just want to take a minute and say Thanks to the bowlers for making my first Finals weekend a very memorable weekend. The competition was amazing and the bowlers were all a pleasure to have at the event. I know I made some mistakes this year on the Prince and Princess tournament and I can assure you it will get better, I promise.

Now for the workers, WOW I can't say enough, without all of you this tournament would not be possible. Corky, Bonnie, Mike, Karen and Beth All I can say is thank you very very much, You guys kept me grounded and gave me great guidance in the first year. Like I said above I made some mistakes, but because of you guys they weren't nearly as bad as they could have been.

To the rest of you really hard working folks that did scores, sold raffle tickets, recounted scores and whatever else needed to be done - A Huge Thanks to all of you. I hope you will come to help next year.

We all made a great TEAM, Its the start of good things to come........

Lastly to my lovely wife Shari. If it weren't for you I wouldn't have been able to keep going. There was so many times during the weekend that I got really stressed out. You made sure I walked away from what I was doing and either took care of what I was doing or found someone to finish it for me. I love you very much.
